I would probably ditch it and get a new one. I don't know if rust is bad for you or not.
Hey folks, I have a teapot that's got a couple small rust spots in it. Can't figure out whether I should ditch it and get a new one, or if it's just a cosmetic thing.
Anyone know how bad rust is?

Personaly I would get a new one... At the most 10 bucks maybe? Rust has never been associated with good health as far as I know..![]()

I know, it's just that I'm a tight wad, and am waiting for someone to tell me it makes no health difference at all.
rust is not harmful if you ingest it. its very harmful if it gets in your bloodstream and causes tetanus. just get some naval jelly or some other rust remover and you should be safe.

I'd get a new one... Introducing oxidized metal into your body can't be a good thing.
However, my wok is a lil' rusty and I feel it contributes flavor![]()
The more I drink, the less I care.
Just a wee bit of contradiction. It's OK, I contradict myself all the time. Wait a minute, no I don't.Originally posted by sitosterol:

Not trying to be a smart ass, but what the hell is naval jelly? Something especially for sailors, or for your bellybutton?Originally posted by smaier69:

Hey, you could always do what my wife did with our old copper tea pot...use it as a plant pot...we've got some sort of vegetation growing out of it![]()
