    Cool Ship of Gold

Just imagine if you found a sunken ship with 200 million dollars worth of gold. Well these guys did. One gold bar weighed over 80 pounds!

    Quite an interesting story.

I guess I'm just intrigued by shiney objects, I set that picture as my desktop.

They found some coins, gold double eagles, that are the only known ones to exist.

I'm not an avid coin collector, but I have quite a collection. I don't have any gold coins yet, and the wife and I decided that we are going to buy a gold US proof set when our kid is born.

*Edit* I can't get the link to work, lets see if the pic will link,

After fighting the insurance companies, that paid off claims 130 years ago, they got to keep the gold under the "finders keepers" law.

The gold was in water over 8000 feet deep.

Isn't this the same group that took the tecnology developed to find this to later find the Titanic?

Cool find though and as always the lawyers have to get involved, wonder what the defence cost?
