real funny, hes tried restarting and replugging in.
if the num/caps/scroll lights on the keyboard aren;t working, i would be led to believe it's either a bad keyboard/keyboard cable, or a bad port on the mainboard. i had someone give the a system to fix where there was a piece if foreign matter (looked like the end of a toothpick) broken off in one of the port holes. so, when the PS/2 plug felt like it was seated properly, it really wasn;t. solution for that one? just bought a cheap USB keyboard.
my suggestion would be to just try a different keyboard of the same kind of plug. if it still doesn;t work, then maybe a new, different keyboard (if its PS/2, then try a USB one and vice versa).

That was a true story.
How was I to know what your friend has tried? My client didn't check the connection?
You haven't said what he's tried so far. You haven't mentioned what type of keyboard either. You haven't given much info at all.
In fact, you are expecting me and everyone else to read his mind.
Hey, I tried.
Remove it from device mangler and reboot. Or has your friend already tried that too?
check for bent pins...and sarcasm doesn't get far.
buy a cheap memorex one for liek 8.99 and see if its the keyboard.
ok i dont know too much either he doesnt live near me actually i have never seen him hes just in my cs clan and he said all the pins looked fine.
Well instead of being a smartass I'll try and help. a)it's the keyboard itself (cable) or the mobo port. either is simple..actually if he buys a usb keyboard then both possible issues will be resolved.
