How to determine type of psu?

Will I be able to use the psu and/or case from an old 486 on a Zida BX98-3D?

I was told that it depends on if the psu and case (which are normally the same) are AT or ATX. How can I determine this?

    Thanks

If its an at case then no you cant put an atx board in it without a lot of modifcation. If you look at the harness comming off the power supply an ATX ps will have a rectangular plug with 2 rows of pins( total of 20 pins) the older AT supplies only had single rows of pins(6 pins in each connector) and there were 2 connectors for the mobo that went side by side.

if its an AT mobo the power connector will be longer and the AT psu will have 2 parts to connect to the mobo for power, to fill the longer connector on the mobo.

if u have trouble, post a pic we can tell ya.
