    Address bar search...

    Ok, everyone knows the defualt search engine in IE is MSN. Well somehow mine got changed, don't know how... was just surfing around and getting lots of pop-up adds when suddenly i open a new browser and run a address bar search and it takes me to some qcksearch.com...

    http://www.qcksearch.com/apps/epa/ep...ksearch.com%2f

    How do you change the address bar search string in IE? I already tried emptying all my History, Files, Cookies, Downloaded Program Files, and even reinstalled IE... no luck .

    Thanx,
    Kyler1

    Same thing I think, I checked for any of the GAIN and Gator junk but didn't find any. Running virus scan now but don't think it will find spyware.

    You can look at this key in the registry and see what it says
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Search Assistant]
    this is what mine says for this value:
    "DefaultSearchURL"="http://www.google.com/search?q="
    She's presenting like a mandrill!

    I got to thinking about that and checked it, removing the Keys does not help I'm running the latest Ad-Aware now and it's findin plenty of sh*t... Hope this fixes it.

    Thanx,
