Voodoo Child and anything else on his best album, Electric Ladyland.

hubboy.... any and all. i really don't have a favorite. i am somewhat of a Jimi buff. if i had to pick, it would be either Voodoo Chile (slight return) or Castles Made of Sand. his versions of Red House kick pretty hard as well.

    interesting points of interest.....

    - did you know that the original version of "Purple Haze" was over 12 minutes long? it was never released, as the record execs wanted a pop hit, and they thought a 12 minute song was too long for popular music listeners' attention span.

    - Noel Redding threw one of his patented hissy fits and sormed out of the studio during the recording of "All Along the Watchtower". Jimi, unphased, picked up the bass and laid down the track himself.

    - the Experience's first US tour had them paired up with...... The Monkeys. can you imagine? an audience of teenage girls and their mothers, sitting their aghast at the "noise" Jimi is belting out? not a very good matchup IMO.

    Too tough to answer...

Another tid bit.....All Along the Watchtower is a Bob Dylan song..

Another tid bit...Hendrix could do a rough run through on one listen to a song..
Sgt. Pepper wasn't an offical release when Hendrix was doing his version live.

I'd probably go with Voodoo Chile (slight return) and Castles Made of Sand and agree with the above that his version of Red House is something else..
