lol, the tresuary department does a great job to be at 6.4 trillion dollar debt.

i dont understand how we can be in debt, but yet we can spend money on foriegn aid, military, etc, etc....all the stuff we spend money on...how can we spend money on it if we are in debt??

I know when I am in debt, the debt has to get paid off first before I can spend any money on other stuff...but the government doens't work like that???

Simple solution for solving the national debit.

Print off about 6.4 trillion dollars worth of bills and be done with it.

The national debt will never go away as long as citizens buy savings bonds. I wonder how much of the $6.4T is owed to SB holders?

A large part of the debt is money borrowed from the Social Security Trust Fund + interest. Only the federal government is capable of defecit spending. That is spending more money than you actually have. State and local governments can't do this.
    Respect it.
