    Unhappy Just DAMN!

    I got all my parts in, fired the beast up and one of the 120 GB WD SE drives started emitting this heinous squealing noise, like a freakin' Delta fan! The other drive is perfectly normal, but now I can't get this thing up and running, since I was going to use RAID-0.

    Luckily I still have this laptop for now.

    awww that sucks burke. i know how it feels. when i got my new Xp1900+ and my kt3 ultra. w/ IBM 120gxp. Fired it up and the HDD started squeaking.

    Well, I did have another 120 GB WD SE that I had a ton of backup data on, but I got most of it onto CD-R and wiped it and setup the array. I'm on a basic install of XP, no service packs, no tweaks or anything. This sucks because I want two completely new drives in this thing and not one old and one new. Plus, it's gettin' near bed time.

    those are cool fans, but i wish they came in 3500 or 4000 rpm models aswell for better cfms.

    Wow...I just checked the specs on them fans.....26 db? Sweet.....

    Agrees with Yardy.....as quiet as they seem to be..I wouldn't mind a slighty faster fan either.......
