    To Use or not to use onboard NIC

    My 2nd AXP rig is shaping up quite nicely..

    some of the parts are almost 6 months old (they had been collecting dust) if anybody remembers what happend to my 8k3a+ that's why...

    I've got
    Antec True 480
    Abit AT7 Max (333 Chipset)
    Visiontek GF2 GTS
    60 gig Maxtor L Series
    no CD-Rom yet...
    no CPU yet...(might make a deal to get an XP 1600+ if not I want XP2000 or above)
    no RAM yet.. (might make a deal with someone to get Corsair XMS PC2700 512mb Stick
    3 Com 905C NIC

    I'll have this rig folding by the end of Feb. the latest....

    now my question is;

    the Abit AT7 Max has an Integrated NIC (Realtek don't know the chip of hand)
    should I use the Onboard NIC or the 3Com NIC I have?

    the realtek is probibly the RTL81398. Id disable it and use teh 3com. It will use less resources and the cpu wont be utilized as much
