Re: Black Friday and Holiday Deals 2024

I talked myself back from the edge this year (again). I know I talk a good game but when I sit here at my computer and I honestly think about what I'm actually doing with my PC I realize for this point and time in my life it's doing everything I need it to do. I also have plenty of headroom, space ...

Happy Thanksgiving

Ours is going to be rather short. My wife's family usually doesn't start eating until 6 or 7pm and Mrs. Easto has to be at work in the morning. We'll probably just eat and run. The other HUGE plus is that it's not at our house! I get to come home to a clean home.

Re: Black Friday and Holiday Deals 2024

The WD Black 2TB SN850X is going for $123 at Amazon. I already have over 2gb of empty space on my 2 non-OS drives so if I get this it would just be because it's so darn cheap.

Black Friday and Holiday Deals 2024

I've told myself that this is the year to pull the trigger on some much "wanted" hardware. Last year I hesitated and missed out on almost everything while I watched prices increase after the sales were over.

I (still) want to max out my mobo's CPU capacity (AM4). The Ryzen 9 5900x is now $199 at ...

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, that History is treated differently. How would I check to see if the "cookies, cache, etc" have been deleted?

Basically what I'm trying to do is remove any trace of me accessing those sites so that if I am hacked there wouldn't be any clues of where I bank ...

Re: Anyone staying up late to watch the election results?

I am expecting issues tonight, Pennsylvania and potentially some other swing states will report results late, so I don't know if we'll have a clear winner tonight at all.

I will be watching, will try to tune-in later as I don't usually go to bed before midnight anyway.

I agree, we really won't ...

Anyone staying up late to watch the election results?

I'm going to try and hang in there as long as I can but that really doesn't mean much. Mrs. Easto and I usually go to bed before 9pm so I don't think I'll get to see much. I do listen to my bedside radio to put me to sleep and tonight I'll tune it in to some station that will be following the ...

In Oct 22 we bought a new Honda Pilot. My wife drives our Accord to work and since I'm retired the Pilot spends a lot of time in the Garage. We just turned 9k on the odometer this month i.e. about 4500 miles a year. We've never had something with so much room and it comes in very hand when we have ...

One of the things I noticed that it does... when you use the Cap Locks key the colored light underneath the key changes color. So now, I can tell if it's on just by looking at the key. There's a ton of programmability too. I like having single function keys/macros setup in order to open and close my ...

My old Microsoft (cheap) keyboard was really starting to go. I decided to give someone else a try. I bought a mechanical keyboard from Keychron. A Keychron V6. I've been looking into dumping my current ISP (Charter) and going somewhere else. I've called them several times requesting a lower rate but they just don't want to budge like they use to. Frontier is offering a plan that would be a substantial discount over Charter. Substantial enough to make me ...

Re: Chrome not to support uBlock Origin?

I'll have to take a closer look about the ads in the middle. What is happening now... the screen will go black with a "buffering" icon on the screen. Then, if it's a short enough ad it will just go right into the video. If the ad is longer than something like 10-15 seconds the screen remains black ...

I haven't really been following this issue since my preferences lean towards AMD. Have any of you been having problems with you Intel based systems? It looks like Intel just extended the warranty on these chips by 2 years.

Windows 10+ can be set to auto-delete old files in the "Downloads" folder.
It is under Start Menu > Settings > search for "Storage Sense" > "Change how Storage Sense frees up space"

Wow! I learn something new every day. It appears to be in Win 11 too. Very useful, thank you.

Later today we're going to the wife's son's house for a BBQ. It will probably be pretty low key. Most of the grand kids are old enough to drive now so they really don't like hanging around with the old folks. That's ok. We'll get home early, LOL.
