Re: The Markets and Trump
On top of all that there's an article in the news this morning that China has told its airlines to stop taking delivery of any Boeing aircraft. That's going to get someone's attention.

Re: Weird mouse/Windows scrolling issue (Fixed)
It appears it was the actual mouse. I'm now using the mouse from my wife's computer and there hasn't been a problem for a couple of hours. I guess I'll be heading over to Newegg for a new mouse later today.

Re: Weird mouse/Windows scrolling issue (Fixed)
I think it has something to do with the mouse and those drivers. For instance, when experiencing this problem it manifests itself as... I open a drop down list but when I move the mouse or try and click on one of the items the list closes. I've removed the mouse drivers and let them reinstall ...

Well, this problem seems to have come back to life. This time the left/right buttons were set correctly when checked. This is really weird. I'll report back with more info later.

I just did a quick check and it appears my left and right mouse buttons had been reversed in the settings. I have no idea how that happened. My left primary button was acting as the right button.

Weird mouse/Windows scrolling issue (Fixed)
Two days ago I updated the drivers for my audio interface. I started to notice that upon booting up the speaker icon had an "X" next to it indicating it was muted. If I clicked on it the slider would open up but whenever I tried to increase the volume it would snap back to "0/Muted". The only way I ...

Same to you!
I live very close to the city of Seal Beach. Back in the late '70s they use to have what was affectionately known as the Annual St. Patrick's Day Riot. Now those were some good times. It was back when streaking was a big thing.

Re: Chrome not to support uBlock Origin?
After playing with this for the last week I seem to be running into some glitches. I can't say if they're due to the extension, but I'm starting to get some hesitancy and stuttering when opening certain sites/pages. Nothing major, but there is a change in the force. I'm going to have to experiment ...

I am all for eliminating/reducing any redundancies/efficiencies in government. It's just that I can't be convinced that someone/anyone can assess these departments and pinpoint where these adjustments need to be made in such a short amount of time. It appears to be "Cut Twice, Measure Once". I have ...

I guess this is the new beast in town. I see it getting a lot of great reviews. I just did a comparison on PassMark.
My Current CPU
Ryzen 7 3700X = 22,495
Ryzen 9 9950X3D = 70,434
That's a 68% performance increase over what I'm running right now.

Re: The Markets and Trump
I agree that my index funds had been growing and I wasn't quite sure why, but I took the win. I was preparing myself for the eventual pullback. But the "pullback" has accelerated by Trump's heavy handed cattle prod approach to the economy without any forethought or understanding about what he's ...

Fortunately I am also able to "wait it out" except I do have an IRA that has RMDs. I usually take more than the RMD, but so far it looks like I might be taking the bare minimum this year in order to reduce any damage

We do very little printing here. Actually, we do so little printing I was just going to the local UPS store and using their printers when I needed something printed. I got a new printer
About 2 months ago I decided to go and get me a laser printer. It's a Canon MF654Cdw. Our old printer has been broken for a long time and whenever I needed something printed (which isn't often at all) I'd just go to the local UPS store and print it there. Now I've got a very nice unit and over the ...

How is any industry supposed to plan and execute any long-term goal when Trump keeps moving the goalposts every other day? I'm feeling the pain of this in my investments. I have lost more money since he started in with all these antics than almost any other time except for possibly 2008. I'm ...

That's the thing about stuff like this. So many people just don't want to maintain them and they appear to die years ahead of their time, when in fact they just need a good cleaning, a spark plug and oil change and they're as good as new.

New lawnmower day
Mrs. Easto leaves for work the other day. Moments later she calls me and tells me someone has a free lawnmower sitting on the parkway outside their house. I walk down there to take a look and I couldn't believe me eyes. It's a smaller Craftsman model with a Honda engine. The perfect size for my ...

One filter I've found that works pretty good is setting it to trash any email where I'm not the "To:" recipient. The only thing is if I'm Cc on the email it goes to trash. I'm going to have to modify this rule a little.

For most of my computing career I've been almost spam free. Up until 6 months ago I might get 2-3 spam emails a month. I must have gotten onto several lists because now I'm up to 5-10 a day. It really sucks. I do filter almost all of them but it still sucks.

$2,000 for a video card !!!
I just read about the latest Nvidia release, the RTX 5090, and they're saying it will cost $1999.00. At times I've considered getting back into a little gaming (FPS) and buying something out there on the leading edge, but not that "leading". Are there people out there that will actually pay $2k for ...

I'm going to be consolidating and culling information that I have on 4 separate HDDs. I am probably going to end up with just a little under 2tb of data after most photo duplicates are eliminated etc, so I'm looking at a 4tb drive.
