From the reviews I've read so far, performance is as I expected. Almost as good as Intel but just slightly lagging. Price versus performance is where it beats Intel and that is where the big victory...

I was thinking more from a physical core comparison. About a grand for Intel to play in that arena. But performance wise comparison, yes the i7-6800K would be correct.

A 1700x or 1800x almost anyone can afford. What Intel wants for their i7 8-core processor line is insane.

Not bad, have not been building much, my main box is several generations old. The new Ryzen processors have peaked my interest, I may be picking a 1700x up mid year. What's happening here?

I will turn off one of the SMP clients and see what the results look like.

Super disappointing at the moment. Fahmonitor shows it at 6218.37 PPD. WTF?? :mad:

My 8-core Xeon e5430 box. I've been running 2 SMP clients and 1 GPU client on a 8800GTS on this box. Let's see what kind of boost I get with the GTX285. :nod:

Got my replacement card in from evga today. Modest upgrade, they sent me a 7900GT. I guess I'll put it into my HTPC.
