    open a command prompt and type:

    ping www.google.com -n 500

    and watch it for a while...

    look for not just packet loss but a PATTERN of packet loss..

    HIGH signal low bandwith.. on XP

    I have a pretty strange problem, and nobody can even guess at what is causing it (thus far)

    I talked to Binladen at microsoft and he couldent get it hammered out..

    I screwed with it some more, and now.. the XP machine can see the vista machine.. but the vista machine cant see the XP one....

    go into "network and sharing center" on the vista machine
    and make sure "password protected sharing" is OFF and "file sharing" is ON

    Ok, here is the setup..

    I have 3 PCs.. 2 Desktops, 1 laptop..

    they connect to my router, 2 via wireless 1 via wired.

    1 desktop and the laptop are running vista ultimate

    the other desktop...
