There was a -12 signal on the channel my broadband works on coming from the tap outside on the pole. Upon further inspection...it was infested with ants. Talk about a buggy network...

Also try to see if any routers/switches could be causing problems if you have those installed. Try connecting directly from your modem to your computer, then lest the line again.
