I've been absolutley overjoyed at my discovery of emulators. I have made my job SO much easier walking a customer through their device.

Some hardware (Ovislink DSL modems (Broadcom chipset) and SmartRG808, I can't find an emulator but I have access to the hardware.

What software is used to create ...

We ran into an incident similar to this with the TC4400.

The definitive way to confirm what is what confirm what firmware version CMTS is expecting and log into your router (You've already done with with the 192.168.100.1 and check the modems firmware. Make sure they match.

Also double check in your network settings for the NIC that the NIC can actually do more than 100Mbps. Ideally you want to see 1Gbps.

So at work there is a small battle going on on how to automatically calculate levels output from a modem.
