Quick question. What would you recommend for good quality for the price 5.1 PC speaker system?
Anything by Boston Acoustics.
What's your budget?
Loved my Boston Acoustic system I had years ago. They've really cut out their current offerings for computer systems lately.
Logitech makes quite a few good models.
Klipsch makes some really potent ones too....typically they have great RMS power (the type of wattage rating that really matters, unlike "peak" watts)
On a budget, there are some good Creative Labs Inspire models
I was wanting to stay around $100. I found this one, but have never heard of them which makes me skeptical. I want good sounding, hard hitting speakers, but being a computer and all I do not want to spend a lot of money. It reads that they were regular $229.00.

That looks like what is often referred to as 'white van' speakers. If on a budget of $100 I would find the best Logitech has for that price and jump on it.

I have heard many Logitech speakers over the years and even the not so expensive ones sound pretty decent.

I've been pretty happy with Logitech's PC speakers.
I had Boston Accoustics when I first got my computer. Blew the Subwoofer. Tried some Logitech systems, but none even came close to those BA's. I ended up getting the Klipsch Promedia 2.1 system. This about blows my home theater away! http://www.klipsch.com/promedia-2-1-computer-speakers
I've been using Boston Acoustics BA790 for almost 13 years. Recently, I dropped the right satellite speaker and it stopped working. Took it apart, saw no damage or loose connections, put it back together and shortly thereafter it worked again. I was devastated, there's nothing on the market that comes close to these speakers in their original price range. I paid about 75 bucks for them new somewhere around the turn of the century.
Those Boston Acoustics BA series were excellent...had a pair myself for my gaming computer back in the Win9X/early XP days. Loved 'em! Mine weren't the 790 model...I think they were the 650 model.
Loved Boston Acoustics anyways...had some for my home stereo system, and car.
But these days...good luck finding some computer speakers from them.
For 70 bucks..check out the Logi Z series..think there is a 506 model or something like that.

I bought these, but I am going to give them a test run and go from there. I will review all the info and send those others back if I don't like them. Again, thanks for all of the information.
Tony T, Thank you so much. I am calling them and getting half my money back! I checked the yard sale site when on there the other day, but those were not available.
I would HIGHLY suggest these.
