On a sad day in aviation today, the Liberty Belle crashed enroute from Chicago to Indianapolis. A fire had started while in flight, and the pilot had to put down in a corn field. Fortunately, the crew and passengers all made it safely off the aircraft, but the Belle is a total loss. Just looking at some of the pictures that have been posted on flickr, it's a mess. There's really not much hope for restoring it now At least I had my day in the sun flying on her back in September. ...
