There are up sides and down sides to any place that you live. Around here, there are plenty of down sides, such as being downwind from the cattle yards when the winds get really strong. Or heat being triple digit unbearable for long stretches during the summer. But there are plenty of up sides as well. This past week I had the fortunate pleasure of being able to shoot some pictures (well, a lot of pictures, actually) of three key aircraft from the WWII era: the B-17 Flying Fortress, the B-24 Liberator, and the P-51 Mustang. All three are cared for by the Collings Foundation, and they tour them every year in order to raise money for the upkeep of these amazing aircraft. Fortunately for me, I had my camera with me in my car, and as I was leaving work, I noticed several aircraft lined up on approach into our airport.
