From what I've heard.. the onboard sound doesn't suck.

Teh Win, the onboard sound is more then adequate on the NForce boards. 6-channel Dolby Digital, built in amp....reviews have placed it sounding equal or better then the Audigy stuff I belive....just an FYI :)

Everything seems to be kick ass man....seems like a very fair price too, I paid 1200 for my computer almost a year and a half now, and it sucks compared to your setup.:)

it will be fine,I have a Dragon+ with the CMI 6ch onboard sound and it kicks butt and works great.
and my mobo also has a VIA onboard NIC that works as good as as any pci nic out there!
and it also has a onboard VIA IDE/Raid controller that works great!

Is it just me, or is something wrong with this URL:

Mmmmm..........Serial ATA. Too bad you can't really use it yet.

I like the looks of that mobo. Methinks I might have to purchase one.

Looks a little weak for a 2800 T-Bred. With that HS/F @ 35 CFM you're temps will probly be around 45-50+*C=111-121*F@idle. I personally would get an ALL copper one IMHO, that's if you have the $$$ to spare. If not, then run with it, then decide if you're comfortable with it [the Vantec]. You can always upgrade later.

I would recomend the "Thermaltake VOLCANO 7",,,or "7+"
or Thermaltake VOLCANO 9.

Sorry about the 2800 thing, long night.
Something like these first four on this page:

http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/soccpucool.html

OR here for extreme/future OC'ing:

fortunately your mobo still has the 4 mounting holes to utilize the latter.

*NOTE: Some HeatSinks require additional purchase of fan.

HEY, I just clicked on your wish list again and noticed that you have the Tt SLK-800 added to it. I just received that from sidewindercomputers.com on Friday - SWEET looking thing!! Sidewindercomputers have it down to $39.00USD now, those Bastard'z! It was $43.00USD a week ago - damn the luck!

Nope, no probs at all. The Sales rep [@sidewindercomputers.com] even emails me a response within 12Hrs of a normal duty day if i have a question. This dude even shipped my last USPS "insured" @ NO CHARGE! [normally shipments are not insured w/most companies using USPS] Due to the business that I support him with from Overseas, small company.

I just received an e-mail today from Sales rep that they will start to carry mainstream products slowly in future - they are currently phasing out the Xtreme DDR'z to replace them with the Corsairs. Can't wait to see their prices on that.

Would I need round cables and such? I often see other ppl include that stuff to their order on newegg. Should I?

It's usually a good idea if you want to access the drives.

It's going to be hard to use without one. ;)

yes, rounded cables not only look good, but they help free the air flow inside the case, hopefully lowering case and cpu temps,I have rounded IDE and Floppy cables in all my boxes.

LOL,well he did'nt mention a keyboard or mouse or speakers ,etc etc,\

so it was safe to assume he was just talking about the computer.

I think the monitor specs would be interesting.

Or, are you just keeping an old one?

KuRe

Well I'm thinking about getting a new monitor too, now that you mention it... any suggestions?

KuRe
12-05-02, 12:30 AM
Also, the budget for the monitor is no more than $300

:(

Another thing, for anyone who has shopped with newegg buying multiple items at a time, is that $16 shipping for EVERYTHING?

For example, after I click 'load item into cart' and I calculate the shipping ($16) it displays my "Grand total" at $1016 when the price before shipping was $1000.

So is $16 for everything

or

$16 Dollars for each item, ending up @ a couple hundred dollars more :(

yep, $16 for everything. i think after you go over a limit it starts dramatically decreasing. heres mine.
