Hi ! just wondered if anyone could recommend the best way to try & enhance a newspaper picture of a wedding, the picture isn't very clear, infact very dark.

Also its a scanned document so a bitmap image, so rather large.

Any help is appreciated

Call the Newspaper in question, they may sell you a print or the negative. Just dont wait to long after it was in the paper or they may have destroyed it or burried it away in the vaults of time.

Hi appreciate your comments, the newspaper picture in ?? is from the 60's & I got it from a library archive.

Guess I'll just try PSP or something like that, just wondered if anything specific could be used for such pictures as from newspapers?

Thx Again !! ;)

The browse button would only apply if the SpeedGuide server actually hosted the picture to be posted, but they don't do that here, so you have to use the IMG tag and post the URL to the pic's location offsite.

You might try scanning it with a piece of black paper behind it so the light does not pick up too much from the other side of the newsprint, Try scanning at different resolutions to high might really enhace the poor quality of the newsprint, post here and us chop geeks may clean it up for you

That's excellent advice, Chris, and I find it amazing that so many people out there with scanners have no idea to do exactly that. It makes a HUGE difference.
