For AMD I'm leaning towards Epox. Read some good things about the new 333 board.

I believe Asus to be the best board manufacturer out there. MSI, Abit, Epox are also very good, but from what I've worked with, Asus has been almost problem free in my 6 years of pc support.
Extremely reliable.
for Pentium 4 I recommend the P4S533 which supports the new 533MHz bus speed plus PC2700 DDR SDRAM.
for AMD, I recommend the A7V333, which I now own. PC2700+ DDR support. solid VIA chipset.
If you have something against Asus or if you've heard horror stories, then go with Abit or MSI. Asus sometimes cost an extra penny or too also. But your motherboard is the most important part of your PC so research your board before you buy.

gigabyte 8srx, great OC potential, great system, come in raid flavor etc, ddr333+ support
Epox 8k3a+
Asus A7V 333 (not sure if that's the right model)
I use and like the Asus A7V333. I went with ASUS for the reliability. A good solid board...
