You'll like this one then...

3.5GB/s benchmarks (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,2937588~root=ocusa~mode=flat)

Just reading a few of his posts.. kat is amazing. Doesn't like Epox though. He swears by the Abit KR7A.

Crazy

going OT.. but tHE_0ne... bring your memory vid up to 455mhz. :-)

Also, drop your multiplyer and push the RAM a little harder. :-)

I think it is the "Dual MPX Chip" - Thing which slow my ram!

btw I have a gf3 ti200 too:

What is the difference between "1CMD" and "2CMD" in the mem details after the cas lat. 2-2-2 "1CMD/2CMD" ... ??
--> compare fish and me!!! !??!?

this is what i get, that is about as high as i can overclock and be completly stable 24/7 with memory settings at max :(

i wish my board went that high..agp tearing at frickin 195.. oh well..used to post at 200..no more. hrmm..haven't tried in a while, i don't even KNOW what my kingmax will do..doubt 210 tho ;)

Good way to burn out your AGP... change play with your AGP bus multiplyer. :)

A_old
05-26-02, 10:04 PM
naa. it's all automatic (as far as multiplyers go).. i think my card can't take it. have yet to try w/ a pci or another agp.

If you read this you will understand
http://www.lostcircuits.com/memory/ddr2/

Then you can thank kat.
He hangs at that other place ya'll do your speedtests at, in the OC forum.

heh;
If it's a from Mr Crucial 2100 and you want to really burn in the ram, give it about 2.8 volts - 3 volts, drop the multiplyer to about 6.5 then bring her up to about a 180fbs. Just make sure you have active heatspreaders (passive will work too) on them if you want to go the distance. :)

Of course, I nor Speedguide is responsible if you blow your computer up.

Just thinking, again... you could always do it the other way. Lowest voltage it can POST at for as long as you can stand it at stock everything. I've been hearing things about that too.. never done it. Never did the Micron burn that high though... :)

I may be mistaken but it looks to me as if your mem settings aren't maxed, 2:2:2 1T would be maxed... at least that's what I've always worked with

well i have dramm in the BIOS set to ultra and 4 way interleave, but not sure how to set the other things like edge control ,or dramm command rate etc.

any sites that i could read that would explain those other settings.

thanks for pointing that out , i always thought i was maxxed out, learn something every day.

i just saw which m/b you use, have you checked out
http://www.viahardware.com/faq/kg7kr7/kg7kr7faq.htm

this is from this site:

Optimum SDRAM Settings

The optimum settings for your RAM are set in the Advanced Chipset Features menu, under the "DRAM Clock/Drive Control" menu, and are as follows:

You may need to increase the DDR Voltage to 2.65v or 2.75v to achieve stability with faster memory settings
You may need to increase the FSB to 136 or 138MHz to achieve stability
If you have PC2100 (or higher) memory set the DRAM Clock to 133MHz. If you have PC1600 memory use 100MHz. Do not use the "By SPD" setting as this can occasionally cause problems.
For optimum DRAM Timing, set to manual then configure as follows:
Almost all DDR memory, whether specified as CAS 2 or 2.5, will run with a DRAM CAS Latency of 2. Set to 2 for optimum performance. (See What does CAS Latency mean?)
Bank Interleave set to 4 (see What does DRAM bank interleave do?).
Precharge to Active (Trp) to 2T
Active to Precharge (Tras) to 5T
Active to CMD (Trcd) to 2T
Leave the "DDR DQS" settings on Auto. That said, one user found that he had to change the DDR DQS input delay to 20 and DDR DQS output delay to 40 to achieve stability.
DRAM needs to be refreshed at a certain interval and this can be done one row at a time or in a queued manner in which a certain number of rows are refreshed in burst mode. Set "DRAM Queue Depth" on "4 Level" for optimum performance.
Command Drive Strength should normally be left on LO unless you are experiencing instability (particularly with multiple DIMMs) in which case try HI. It has no performance impact.
DRAM Command Rate on 1T (this can offer significant speed enhancements, but may not be possible with poor quality memory or with several DIMMs. It can also contribute to the infamous "infinite loop" error with NVidia graphics drivers)
The role of DCLK Feedback Delay is not fully understood and should be left at 0ps until more information is found!
See also What are the optimum BIOS settings? on BIOS page, for non-memory related performance enhancing settings.

Follow these guidelines and if you have probs, start relaxing settings one by one

Happy tweakin!! :D

Is there much of a performanc difference between 2700 and 2100?

aagiants
05-30-02, 08:11 PM
the diffrrence between the two is the speed in which the ram runs, the Benchmark gains are something i dont know...
