mutch buying a decent mobo and ram wont cost you that much after you sell you current one... That is what i do for everything, get new items then sell them online at forums and such. You end up paying a portion of the new item. If you read reviews online you can find good mobo/ram combos....

1st u buy the parts, and set them up. And when ur sure you wont have to return them for any reason, then sell the mobo and ram. you want to keep the CPU since you can reuse that. You wanna take everything that you can reuse that wont affect performance that much.

Get a new mobo that supports RDRAM or DDR RAM. PC 100 SDRAM is just too slow.

Ya i'll recommend gettin a DDR board and 512MB of Crucial DDR. Its real cheap right now with the $20 coupon per stick of 256. Or if you live in Toronto, theres tonz of local stores that can offer similar prices, although Crucial might cost more

Try upgrading to AMD :D that will give you some major performance gains :D If you have money to just waste get a flatscreen or definantly more ram is good. If you have $700 that should be plenty to get a new mobo+ram+cpu+gpu (with AMD anyway you p4 boys have to shell out "big bucks for worse products")

How do I go about finding what type of motherboard/cpu I have?
