I've always assumed that NTFS is faster than FAT32, and it seems like every1 else does too, but according to this: http://www.xbitlabs.com/storage/120gb-ide/ FAT32 is faster??

In Winbench 99 v1.2, FAT32 is about 32% faster than NTFS under Win2K... so......

I switched from fat32 to ntfs on my win 2k pc and i find it slower. I agree with the"Uhhh" there's no going back without a format C: :(

Well ntfs is used for security and stability. The overhead of all that of course will slow down ntfs in benchmarks and what not. You don't format your drive with ntfs for speed but for security!

Hmm what if I use Partition magic and converted back to FAT32? Would the partition still boot?
