ok on one side of the heatsink there will be a part that is raised higher then the other as shown in this pic, the part i am talking about is facing u in the pic.

u want to match that with the socket where its raised as well, its the part that says socket a or whatever as shown in this pic, its the bottom right.

line those up and connect the clip, first on the side with the least amount of room to work with, the clip will be vary tight this is normal.




as for the artic silver use a very small amount, spread it over the core and then begin connecting the cpu, u do not wait for it to dry, it doesnt really dry, half a little piece of rice or less is about the amount to use, first try putting some of it on a napkin so u get a feel as to how fast it comes out, post ur questions here, lots of ppl can help :)

this is actually a good point you make...i (one who does this all the time) messed it up only there was a ridge so it didn't touch properly but because of the angle i was at, i couldn't see it..well..it was a celery so it didn't burn, i quickly figured it out (locked up on boot)..so was no biggie...just somethin to keep in mind i suppose
