Now for the $26,000 question...Can the heatsink be painted with a high quality engine paint...Any tips ?

why would you want to do that?
the paint would act more as an insulator, so i wouldn't do it. you may be able to have it anodized if you had to have it colored, but i think just buying a retail heatsink would be more effective.
nice Gateway, BTW. did you remove the duct over the CPU for the pictures, or permanently?.

Im not gonna put alot of mods in her cuz as soon as income tax is back it's time for a new comp..This one will be my kids..
To kill that "I gotta modify something" urge I just painted my case...Purple,yellow and black...Woohohoooo......Pimp...lol
Gotta do a lil detail work to her but I will post a pic soon..
