Hey bigmo66,

Since my XP 1700 isn't selling on this forum, I may try it out on my K7VZA MB. At the moment I have a 1.2GHz/200FSB CPU running flawlessly for the past 5 months (never overclocked).

I'll be testing the XP 1700 this week, should have it done by Wednesday. If the XP CPU is compatible and runs without the errors like I had with my Asus MB, I'll sell you the 1.2GHz.

I'll let you know if it's for sale when I get done testing, give me a couple days to benchmark and rule out any problems.

O.K., I'll be watching for your post. I have been pricing them @ pricewatch and NEWEGG. What are you thinking for a price range?

I would say somewhere around $75 shipped, let me get some pics for you after I get it out. I'll even throw in a HSF combo, I have a few laying around with solid copper base slug.....not the best, but they get the job done!

If I'm not mistaken, this CPU is BOXED/3 year warranty.

I can't quite afford to get a new MB and CPU right now, so I am trying to get a little more out of my old KT7 before she hits the scrap pile. I figure a 1.2 will be alittle better than my 850? I was also thinking about the 1.4Ghz from NEWEGG for $100.

bigmo66,

I installed the XP 1700 into my K7VZA, so far it seems to be running flawlessly. I have my boy benchmarking it all day today and tomorrow. If it works on this board after Wednesday, I'll sell you my Athlon 1.2GHz.

I was thinking $75, minus your 20% veterans discount and free shipping....... $60 grand total for the CPU.

I'll PM you back on Wednesday evening and let you know the outcome.

Take care, BMED (Jeff)

Tried cleaning it up a little, the HSF had a thermal pad.....nasty!
