its a vacuum fluorescent display ,has a nice blue green color with a black backround,going to fit in a 5" bay.

going to have it display temps and cpu speed and whatever else i want to display

havta make a wiring harness to hook up 5V and then 1 wire into the serial port,might have pics of it powered up tonight

how does this differ from an lcd display?

its pretty much the same except the display looks different,its was more expensive than a LCD

it will look like this under a bay cover,woulda bought it with the bay kit but it was anout $70 more and the display by itself was on sale so i can mod the cover myself.

this thing is awesome,still need to put it into the drive bay cover.
going to talk to one of my teachers and see what i need to do to display real time cpu temps

I don't know if LCD smartie 5 can be used for that display but it can if I remeber correct do stuff trhough the serail port . Maybe have a look ?
