As I am entering the the dark underworld of overclocking, it has become apparent that i need to install at least two new intakes and one exhaust. My question is this, when modding your case for intake/blowholes by drilling, what works best, fewer larger holes or more smaller holes?
Maybe some of you could post some pics for me of your drilled cases along with info on fan size etc.???

Thanks y'all!

I've never drilled holes for as an air pass-through to a fan. I find it a lot easier to cut a hole and use a fan grill.

But I guess cutting coles would work.

I would take a look at Lian-Li PC60's because they use holes in the front for the front intake fans.

I think I would go with many many small holes close together.

Get a piece of wood under the face of the case that you are going to be drilling through and then drill each hole through the case and into the wood. This will take pressure of the now weaker case and will allow you to drill the small holes close to each other without getting tears inbetween the holes.

One, large fan-sized hole.

Then get a grate to go over it.

If you *REALLY* don't want a large hole, then the fewer, larger one swould be best.

what u do is place teh fan on the case were u want teh blow hole and either mark the 4 screw holes of the fan or use a long drill bit and put it in teh fans screw holes and drill through the case.

Then u putting a pencil/pen/maker inside the fan trace alont the edge of it and cut that circle out and mount ur fan.

If u dont wanna cut teh circle out or cant, make little holes all a round the case adn then connect the wholes with a saw or dremel and finish it off until its neat enough for u.

Do know it will be quite sharp unless u sand it down or put somethign over it.

edited for an easier read.

yeah, that's what i figured-
im thinking about using a hole-saw(the kind that attatch to a drill)...then got to thinking....
yeah, i could use the hole saw for the fan ports, then prolly do something a little creative and stylish with the saw and some plexi-or something.
this is my first hand-built and OC'd PC...i've already done a killer paint job onit and am buying a GF3ti tomorrow(unless someone quickely sells me on the more affordable radeo8500...., itshould be pretty trick when i'm done:D ;) )

I'll definitely be posting some pics when I'm done!!
