I would like to overclock my celeron more than i have already. It's originally a 433mhz 66mhz bus I have it @ 542mhz 83mhz bus
my cpu temp is 37.8C / 100F. I was wondering if my temp would stay in safe ranges if I went to 112mhz bus?

try it and see. i would assume so

but ur cpu may not take 112 well.

yeah It didn't take 100mhz very well at all, but I know it's capable of more than 83mhz bus.

what hsf or other cooling apparatus do you have on your proc and what motherboard do you have it running on?

you should easily be able to get 100 with the right cooling

I have a gigabyte ga-6vx7b-4x and as far as I know a 5400rpm case fan and a cpu heatsink.

Just to let you know, 30c-34C is the average for a OCed Celeron, and 37c is getting up there, do you have bad airflow in the case? stagnant air?

thanks for the info. the airflow is good as far as I can tell. If I leave the case open the temp stays the same I don't know if that's says anything. Anyway I may not be able to oc it anymore I put the bus at 100mhz and the system didn't even post so I don't know, but I need some more speed and the damn multiplier's locked.

what temp would you say would be a dangerous temp for my cpu?

wouldn't worry where you are now, but if you get like to 40C and a bit higher, I'd start to worry.

alrighty I went out and got a Alpha7HO-FAN for my celeron and pushed her to a 112mhz bus @ 34.5C. Happy times for all:)
