I have 4 ram slots.What type of ram with the right amount of pins can go in the slots.

ok, well, I have about as much of an idea as you buddy....since YOU DIDN"T LIST ANY INFO AT ALL.:rolleyes:

What kind of computer do you have? list the exact model/brand of it.

Hopefully your computer is newer, and you'll be using 172 pin DIMMs. if its really old, you might be using 68 pin SIMMs

also, there's an ad banner for Crucial at the top of this page usually....click on the banner, and if you know your the brand/model of your computer, Crucial has a memory selector that tells you exactly what RAM you neeed. you could try that too

SIMMs came in 40 and later 72 pin...

DIMMs are commonly 168 for standard, 184 for DDR.

I took a ram chip out my computer and i think it is a 72 pin because on the chip there is a number at bottom right of the chip that says 72 maybe that is the amount of pins i got.Does that mean i got SImm Ram or something?

what is the processor u have in it?

might have 72 Pin Simms

have you tried the memory selector @ Crucial?
