Every time I boot I get the "CPU Unusable or changed-load Softmenu" The Softmenu says my CPU is 500 MHz. In reality, its 1200 MHz.

Should I just change it in the softmenu?

Your suppost to change the speed of your processor in bios under SoftMenu III Setup.

Thats kinda what I thought. It defaults to 100 MHz FSB. Guess that should be changed too.

The 9.0 133 setting....

I tried the manual entry with a multiplier of 12X and a FSB of 200 but it will not boot. I have to reset the CMOS.

Its currently running at 1200MHZ 100 MHz FSB acording to the Softmenu III.

I am dumb when it comes to this stuff.

lmao 12x200 = 2.4Ghz that's why it didn't work lol

Are you sure you got a 266 fsb cpu?

Set the FSB to 133Mhz and the Ratio to 9

Ok.

The CPU is fine. The 1200 is just for play until I get enough money for the 1800XP and some other toys.

Whats the difference between

12 X 100 and the 9 X 133? Both = 1200? What is the advantage to running 9 X 133?

faster FSB plus if your memory and FSB are in sync at 133Mhz you will have better latency

Guess I have to do something about the disable host controllers. Any suggestions?

This is all my own fault. I really should be reading the book that came with it! Why am I so stupid?
