Anyone know why my ASUS A7V doesn't recognize my floppy drive when I try to boot? I just put this system together. Unfortunately my HD still has junk on it from my old system, would that cause the problem?

Also, anyone have any idea what the optimum temp for t-bird 900 is?

First thing to check is the cable to make sure it's not on backwards, and it's pushed onto the pins all the way.

Check the BIOS setup for the floppy as well.

Do you know the floppy is good?

Do you know the floppy cable is good?

If the floppy ribbon cable is on backwards, the LED on the front of the floppy will remain on full time as the machine powers up. Should only see the floppy LED wink for a seconds as POST scans for a bootable floppy.

Does it give you an error "No floppy drive detected?" Or just not booting from bootable disk? If the latter, make sure your boot order is A first.
