View Full Version : Trouble with UMAX scanner and Win2K

I have tryed everything I can think of but my scanner is still error code 31 with Win2k. It keeps looking for a systems file "PV8630.sys" and when I put the original CD in and let it run it says that the driver is installed but the device still will not work.
It has also been looking for "C:\WINNT\INF\1220U.inf"

I downloaded the "new" drivers from the UMAX web sit but they did nothing. Any help from you folks out there would be great. I am out of ideas.

The Unit is a UMAX Astra 2100U (USB).

(I have also tryed pugging it into every USB port I have, no luck)

CD-ROM version:
Astra Scanners Version 3.53U

Did you try this file for your scanner. Maybe try uninstalling the old software, rebooting and reinstalling the software listed above that can be found at the UMAX site. Can't hurt to try!

Also, Do you have SP2 update for Win2K?
