Guys I know this is an old article but is it still a valid one?

Considering that Tomshardware wrote it, it wasn't valid in the first place.

There are several of us here running P3 RDRAM mobos (i820) and we are very happy, myself being one of those few.

I find it overall zippier than our SDRAM system. And now RDRAM's greatest strength is on a Pentium 4 system, which wasn't even out when that article was published.

So to answer your question. No.

LoL I knew I was gonna see something like that. Macho was the person who encouraged me to buy the VC820 motherboard with RDRAM. I've noticed that even tho I only have 128 megs of the stuff I was almost running just as fast with my friend who has a 1.33Ghz T-Bird with a Gig of PC133. I was amazed that my ram kept me in the games when everyone else has a GHz or more and I have 750Mhz. Like Macho said I also think RDRAM is quicker then my SDRAM counterparts dispite the latencys;) But right now I think it comes down to this....

i820 w/RDRAM = Very stable and zippy system
i850 w/RDRAM = Just amazing ram speeds.

That review also has no credibility for todays boards. Things have much improved since that article was writen. Hope that helps.
