I just installed Win2K, I had to manualy install some of the device drivers (no big deal) but I have a yellow warrning by my RAID controller in the device manager window. I only have one hard drive at this time so my question is do I need to install the driver for it or can I just ignore it?
I plan on getting a second hard drive to run RAID but cash flow is low so I have to wait.:(

If your not using the raid functions I would remove the device from the device manager. Reboot into your bios and disable the raid functions. I may free up an irq for ya.

Just make sure your 1 drive is setup as master on your first IDE channel and not plugged into the raid socket

are you planning on doing stripping with raid?

if so.....
then as far as i know youll have to reinstall everything when you build the array.

if your mirroring then i dont think you have to.

My advice would be to ignore it if your getting the drive soon. but, like i said....if you doing stripping ....then you have to reinstall everythying anyhow.

I just installed the Promise ata 100 TX2 controller card on my system. (stripping)
had to reinstall all 3 operating systems. :-(

but is well worth the speed boost! :-)
