What video card should I get? My current Video Card sucks so much ass it isn't even funny. Whenever I'm playing a game.. it friggin crashes or causes my system to reboot. My current video card is an onboard nVidia Aladdin TNT2.. I'm sharing 32MB of my system memory with it, even though it's only using 24MB of it.. I know it's the video card because my DirectX is up to date and all that...

I'm running Windows XP so make sure you recommend Graphic cards that are compatible with Windows XP.

I don't have any AGP slots on my Motherboard... so a Voodoo 5 would be hard to come by if I want a PCI slot one.. Give me good prices too :D

Thanks

Hehe. Guess I shoulda read the first post more carefully. :D

Get a PCI Geforce MX. 32 meg flavor. SDRAM is fine since DDR gives practically no gains except in the amount you pay for it.

if u dont have a agp slot then im guessing your running a 500mhz or under, which means its prob your whole system slowing down and not running games right and not just the video card

id recommend maybe looking into a new mobo and processor, u can get a duron 1ghz and a good mobo for not alot, then u can add maybe a geforce2 card to it and itll do yah real good

Actually no... I'm running a Pentium 3 866MHz with 192MB RAM....

wow i didnt think they made boards that support a proc that high and with no agp

then id suggest maybe a geforce2 mx400 pci card, i believe there 64mb cards that are pci, and they arent too expensive

but u should maybe think about getting a new mobo that has agp and just switch everything over

Nvidiots. That said, if you don't want to go Nvidia, there always the Radeon 32mb w/ tv out in the PCI flavour. Cost about $177CAD .

I have a 128MB stick and a 64MB stick in each slot. I'm going to ask if I could trade in the 64MB stick and pay half price for a 128MB stick.. :D

Be back in a bit... gonna see if they actually do it! :D

reinstall DirectX and if you can, re-adjust your perminate memory swap afterwards. Then make sure to scan/defrag the hd.

Get the Radeon 32MB SDR. Better image quality than all the NVidia cards combined.

Iradium... Those are AGP cards. Also, many GeForce3's are in the $300 range while the Radeon 8500's are in the $200 range.
