Well for true accurate measures which I'm sure you know or care nothing about if your MSS is 1440 a setting of 1440x88(scale factor of 2) would be most accurate but then again people who see big numbers seem to think "bigger is better".

I do care, and BTW, my MSS is 1460. So I multiply it by 88 and I get my rwin?

Yes oops 1460 forgot probably cause I never have the luxury of running 1460 MSS :)

If you do this is the wrin you will get 128480. It might work.I know mine cable works better with a lower rwin. GoodLuck! If I run mine at 522680 my speeds are real slow. So I run mine at speedguides suggested wrin 256960 and I get great speeds and pings. ;)

We get that speed on OOL and really seems that most users get best speeds/pings with 64240 or 32120.

Lex thats on OOL right..

Them patchs that I checked out on that site messed up my registry so bad that I ended up useing a backup in win2k. There had been more errors in the files than I had when I was putting together beta files for win2k and at least I called them Beta probably should have called them less... :(
Then Jesse put one of them files in his machine it took three of us about 2 hours to straighten out the mess through VNC..

OOL has a nice fat pipe.. them files just mess it up..

Lex Luthor if you take a look at the bandwidth * delay product for 64240 you will notice at 100ms the user is limited to ~642KB/sec from my dealings with the OOL users they can achieve more then 642KB/sec. I would reccomend for higher throughput where the RWIN doesn't limit the OOL users to use a 1460x44x2 equation this should ensure better speeds for users who can achieve 600KB/sec or higher download bandwidth.

The best RWIN on my system is 373760. Its the RWIN set by the Speed2K Enhancer from Speedcorp.

Cablenut, mine was set at: 513920

This worked pretty good IMO. I can achieve well over 600KB/sec, but I found the download dropping and dropping. Ill try 128480 and see how it works.

Yes, OOL has both a fast backbone pipe and keeps their local nodes small. Oh by the way, if you are interested, they just added another OC-12 to UUNet. They now have 3 OC-12s to UUNet, 1 OC-12 to Sprint and one other OC-12 to, I think, Digix. Pretty sweet. Those 2 to UUNet were getting swamped at peak so the 3rd was needed and really helped things out. OOL is so responsive and open about these things. Not many other ISPs give you this kind of info :)
