Greetings all, I'm looking for a little help with my Linksys Cable Router, I'm hoping some kind soul out there will be good enough to lend a hand. Here's the problem:
I've got my router setup no problem (bought it 3 days ago). Upgraded the firmware to 1.22 , no glitches so far. I'm running (or at least trying to) an FTP server from behind the firewall. The Server runs on a Pentium 200, 32 megs ram, Windows SE, running Serv-U FTP software. Here's the kicker,... it works fine, so long as my other machine (P2 450, 128 Megs ram, Windows SE) is off. As soon as the second system is powered on, the transfers on the server (UL or DL) crap out after about 3 minutes. EVERY TIME. There's no file or printer sharing enabled, they aren't even part of the same workgroup. Network cards in both machines are NDC 10/100 cards, using cat5 cables. I read about the router having trouble with 10/100 cards on timhiggins site, so I locked the Server's card to 10 1/2 duplex. Problem persists. Can anyone lend a hand? I'm losing my hair over this one... trust me, I can't afford that. http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
