DSL Qustion..

Hey i got 56k now.. im looking at Earthlink Max DSL which is:
1500 kbs downstream
256 upstream upstream
5 Emails
250 instaltion + 200 rebate
49 a month
what would be my ping and is this worth it? over other DSLs and Cable?

while all i can say is it will be a improvement. but how much improvement is depending mainly on your DSL company.. but you should be at least get a 50 ping diff .. depending on the modem u get.. that is a great price for dsl thou i would defintetly try it out and see.. if it is not worth it get a modem called "gamers modem" by 3com which will improve your ping by 20-50..
it's about 120 for retail price but u can get it on egghead.com for a lil bit cheaper but for all those people i have recommneded it to and sold it to were all very happy with the difference between there old modem vs there new modem.

hehe COOL thx... right now with 56k i get between 180-300 on quake3.. so your saying i will get like 50-120?

yes. and for one thing it will be a much stable connection. and it is excellent for game play.

I wouldnt pay 200.00 for a install when pac bell will put it in for free and only 39.95 a month for unlimited use
