Ever since I have gotten my new computer, I have been having lag spikes while playing games online. I was on a router at the time so I knew I would get them so I didn't mind them that much. About 5 weeks ago I moved to our study and plugged the ethernet in, and I am still getting lag spikes, much more frequent and worse than before. I thought etherent was meant to be a lag spike free connection. I have searched the internet and I have only found 1 person with the same problem. He fixed his problem by updating his firmware, that only worked for about 3 hours for me before getting them again.

I did one of those tracert www.yahoo.com things and got this:

Holy god, you probably have packet loss. I would call your ISP and have a tech come out to check your line.

You were right, it is packet loss :(

So the only way to fix is to get someone out?

Well I have rang my ISP twice now and they refuse to admit that anything is wrong.
Apparently I have my normal dl & ul speeds, which I definately do not.

So either it is something on my end or the guys at the ISP support are dicks.
