View Full Version : is there any way to limit bandwidth to shared.......
computer? im sharing my cable with 2nd puter, wife just uses to surf, but if im playing, everytime she loads a page, i can notice the game lag as she is pulling all the bandwidth. is there anyway to limit how much the other puter can use? it is my thought that limiting the speed to it, would lower the gaming problem.
I am sure there is a way to do it, but I am thinking you will need some kind of router/switch???
Anyhoo, try using the tweeks on this page just for your computer and not hers, and then see what happens =D

Mmm...
This is an issue I'm dealing with right now at work. (LOL) slightly bigger (T1's muxed to a channelized T3), but same idea...not an easy task, if you find anything out, please pass it on, I'd be delighted to hear about it.
Perhaps the MultiPoint bonding software will let you allocate bandwidth like that, I dunno.
