Making a server over Router! HELP!

I was wondering if I could make a server over my Linksys Router. It has that built in firewall stuff and port closing so that no one can join my server and whenever I make one only the people on my LAN can join. (I'm trying to make a Half Life server.) Please help if you know anything about this. I was also wondering if you could get 2+ people in the same multiplayer game by changing ports or some other way. Thanks.

you have to go into the advance options in the linksys setup. set the dmz to your game server ip. you can also use port forwarding but i don't know the specific ports for half-life.

The only port you need to open is 27015 (for hosting games).
