ADSL latency problem!

hey all,,,,I just got ADSL about 2 hours ago...I went in a counter strike server and my ping was like my 56k exactly!400-500!!someone help...its a 384/128 ADSL...
help!

Did you change your connection type to "T1/LAN"? If so, try typing "rate 9999" at the console.

Don't just jump right in to the game. Mess around with the settings.

This goes for any online game.

When you up your connection, there's settings that must be upped, too.

Don't expect every server to give you low ping even if you have adsl or cable, because some servers are slower than others. Try different servers and see which one gives you low ping. Happy Hunting! http://www.speedguide.net/ubb/smile.gif
