LAN Problem

I have a LAn in my house (10base2) 3 computers (233+) My server is a K7-500 with a Realtek 10mb(lan) and a realtek 10/100 (internet) the network seems to work fine except that I loose temporary connection tot he net (2-3 secs max) ever 4-5 minutes. My isp uses HFC cable modem. I use Ishare as a proxy, My server is running Windows ME now but the problem has been present in all other OS's I have tryed (98, 98se, 2k pro) also it does the same thing with Sygate (I had before installing ME) it's not a big problem just annoying.
