Has anyone come across DSL providers that are using the Winpoet (PPP over ethernet)client?

It seems as though the ISP's have come to the conclusion that users are more familiar with the Dial-up style connection. The connection to DSL actually makes a "dial-up" connection to Earthlink in this case. The problem is they put their own dial-up adapter in. This is conflicting with the transparent proxy feature in Winproxy and it is also a dynamically assignes an IP address with a very short lease duration.

While the setup is currently providing all of the LAN machines with internet access I am looking for a solution that doesn't require setting up Proxies in the browser, anyone have any suggestions?

By the way, before you order your DSL make sure they are not using PPPoE, it seems to be catching on because the ISP's can utilize their existing Dial-up infrastructure for authentication, billing etc...
