Apparently thats common. Someones hacking ATHOME, to HACK YOU! hehe. Dont worry BID shoulda kept 'em out.
ok....according to my logs, both the NNTP port probe AND the Back Orifice ping originated from the same ip/DNS, and both of the previously mentioned attacks occurred within 14 minutes of one another. To say that this is someone hacking @Home, I believe the statement is ludicrous. @Home is robbing of of the bandwidth we pay good money for, and now they resort to scanning network systems without users knowledge or consent. As stated in another post, this is totally in violation of @Home's own AUP, period.

Thats what I,ve been saying and believe.
@home is for sure behind these hacking attacks..So far I,ve been probed using Back Orifice pings 3 times..and now the authorized scan from @home. As far as I can say I do not run servers from this IP..IF THEY CHECKED MY UP/DOWN STATS THE IDIOTS WOULD SEE MY LOW USE DUE TO A OVERLY SLOW CONNECTION,as said in previous threads. So what they expect to find is beyond me. Everyone get scanned with NNTP but maybe thier prime suspects get CDC,d.

I couldn't believe it either...got a black orifice ping from @home 2000-03-04 00:26:14...emailed @home to find out why they were doing black orifice pings and have yet to here from them...
Or I should say someone is either spoofing their ip or is bouncing off of them and doing this...

Their main scans scan the ports that NNTP usually sits on.
I always thought those BO scans were checking for BO servers on @home's users machines. I didn't think it was sinister, but now I'm starting to wonder...
