I have a Windows laptop and a Mac G3 networked through our phoneline (using a Farallon HomeLine adapter on the Mac and Intel's Anypoint USB adapter on the Wintel machine). I am using Vicomsoft's SurfDoubler to share internet access between the two computers. I have two questions I'm hoping someone can help with:
1. Do I need a firewall if SurfDoubler already provides NAT?
2. If a firewall is needed, do I install it on the Mac (the gateway), Windows (client), or both. Obviously the firewall solutions available for each platform are different, so I want to ensure that I'm not buying something that's not needed.
