I think i made a big mistake

I do not no much about computer but i can follow good instruction well detailed. I format my (D)drive SYSTEM_SAVE, and i can not use my recovery CD after restart to restore my computer to its original setting it wont recognise it. I have win98SE,compact presario 5000, pentium III 750 with 128 ram.
