Changing multiplier settings and bus speed...

I was just wondering why does this make your computer faster by decreasing the multiplier setting and increasing the bus speed if in the end you have the same frequency... 225 - 233 MHz.

I have a 300Mhz P2, would it be beneficial for me to lower the multiplier to 4 and increase the bus speed to 75MHz and why?
